Ground Directions
GROUND DIRECTIONS COURTESY OF CHRIS BEREZAI (unless otherwise stated)
Aberaman AthleticFrom the west leave the M4 at Junction 43, and take the A465 to Hirwaun, then the A4059 for Aberdare. Follow the ring road (signed for Mountain Ash), which takes you past Aberdare (and actually straight past the site of the former Aberdare Athletic ground, which is now a leisure centre and playing fields). Take the second signed exit for Aberaman off the ring road, follow the road and past Kwik Save on the right. Take the next left, and the ground is immediately on your left. You can see the ground quite clearly from the approach road. From the east exit M4 at junction 32 and take the A470 northbound. Exit the A470 at signs for Mountain Ash. Turn right at traffic lights on railway bridge and follow road for about two miles. The ground is on the right near the Kwik Save store.
At the end of the M4 (Pontabraham) take exit sign A483 Ammanford for five miles. Turn left at first set of permanent lights for 200 yards to mini roundabout, turn left at roundabout, and turn right after passing seven houses on the right hand side, follow the Lane Road to its end. The Road is called Manor Road and is signposted via brown signs from the traffic lights to The Indoor Bowling Arena. Directions provided by John Thomas, Secretary, Ammanford FC
Bettws From M4 East
Leave at junction 36; go straight over M4 Bridge to roundabout. Take first exit A4063 Maesteg.
Stay on A4063 past the Services lights down to roundabout. Take third exit Maesteg. Next lights turn right on to A4065.
Follow road for 1.5 miles going under two railway bridges. After second bridge follow road around for about 400 metres. Look for sign for Bettws 1.5 miles and turn left up a steep hill. Stay on main road, go through village and as you leave Bettws the ground on your left.
We go back to the Oddfellows for food and drink after the match. You will pass this pub on your way through the village.

Bryntirion Athletic From the East Exit M4 at Junction 35. Head for Bridgend/Porthcawl through four roundabouts. The first has no lights, the next three have lights. After fourth roundabout (A48) towards Porthcawl until mini roundabout then turn right up through Broadlands Estate. Go all the way to the traffic lights at the top, then straight across. Take third exit left. Then go to top of road, ground on right. From the West Exit M4 at Junction 37. Turn left onto dual carriageway. Get into right hand lane. Take the last exit towards Bridgend, then dual carriageway to next roundabout, take first exit. At next roundabout turn left and go over mini roundabout through Laleston for approx one mile to lights. Turn left then third exit left. Then go to top of road, ground on right. Briton FerryTake the slip road at junction 41 of the M4 (the motorway splits into two at this point), and follow the signs for Briton Ferry to the end of the motorway. Go straight on at the roundabout, and down a dual carriageway, getting into the right hand lane before you reach the next roundabout. Keep in the marked lane for Briton Ferry, and take the exit marked for Briton Ferry (if coming from the west, leave the M4 at junction 42, bear left over Briton Ferry bridge, and take the left fork at the end of the bridge into Briton Ferry). Follow the road to a large traffic light controlled crossroads. At the crossroads, turn right, and follow the road, bearing left around a bend. The road then bends right, and the ground is about 200 yards further on the right. CaerleonLeave the M4 at Junction 26, and take the A4051, signposted for Newport and Caerleon. At the next roundabout, take the fourth exit onto the A4042 for Caerleon. Take the second exit off the next roundabout, and bear left onto a slip road. Follow the road until you reach the next roundabout, and take the first exit onto the B4596, signposted for Caerleon. (Annoyingly, the M4 is right alongside, but you can’t get off the motorway here unless you’re coming from the East – if you are, leave the M4 at junction 25 and take the third exit). Follow the road, go over a bridge and into the town. Follow through the town until you see the Drovers pub, just as the road bears right. Take the left turn immediately before the Drovers, and then another left turn after about 50 yards into Cold Bath Road. Follow the road for about 400 yards, then go right just before you reach the college. The ground is on your left. Chepstow TownFrom the M4 join the M48 (this is the stretch of motorway which goes towards and over the original Severn Bridge). Leave the M48 at junction 2,and from the roundabout take the exit for Chepstow on the A466. Follow the road to another roundabout, and take the third exit (marked for Chepstow). Follow the road for about 150 yards, and you will see the Larkfield garage on the right. Take the turning right immediately after the garage (which is signposted for Chepstow Town FC). The ground entrance is 50 yards further on the right.
Corus Steel From the East Leave the M4 at junction 38 and take the 2nd exit at the roundabout onto the dual carriageway. At the next roundabout go straight over and take the first turning on your left signposted "Sports and Social Club".
Follow the road round to the left and through the gates. Leave the M4 at junction 38 and take the 3rd exit at the roundabout onto the dual carriageway. At the next roundabout go straight over and take the first turning on your left signposted "Sports and Social Club". Follow the road round to the left and through the gates. Cwmamman United Directions on how to get to Grenig Park, Glanaman SA18 1EJTake the M4 westbound all the way to the end reaching a service area called Pontabraham Services. Take the second exit heading for a place called Ammanford. Follow this road for approximately five miles into Ammanford Town. At the second set of traffic lights (Ammanford Square) go straight on heading for Pontardawe/Neath and Glanaman. Follow this road for three miles. On arrival at the Glanaman sign post keep going for another three quarters of a mile passing second-hand car sales on your left until you arrive at Grenig square. Our Club is on the right hand side with our name on it. Park your vehicles at the rear of the Club. The ground and dressing rooms are then a short walk opposite the Club. Cwmbran Celtic Directions to Ground – Celtic Park (Cwmbran Stadium Outfields) From the South Take M4 to Junction 26 Take A 4051 towards Cwmbran/Pontypool. This road is a dual carriageway for approx 2½ miles At the end of the dual carriageway take first exit off the roundabout to Cwmbran (still A4051). Road name is Cwmbran Drive. Take second exit (straight on) at next roundabout (approx 1 mile) After approx another ¼ mile you will see the stand of Cwmbran Stadium on your right. Take first exit off next roundabout. This brings you almost immediately onto another roundabout At this roundabout take third exit which will take you to the entrance of Cwmbran Stadium – approx 250 yards on your right. (Beware 30 mph speed trap just before entrance!) After turning into the Stadium entrance proceed into the Car Park immediately on your left and you will see Celtic Park in front of you. Park in this area and walk across to the changing rooms, which are situated at the opposite side of the ground. From the North Take the A465 (“Heads of the Valley Road”) to Abergavenny. At the final roundabout on this road take the A4042 to Pontypool After the road turns into a dual carriageway just outside Pontypool, go straight on at the first roundabout and then take the first exit off the second and third roundabouts. At the next roundabout, take the third exit onto the A4051 to Cwmbran. At the first roundabout take the second exit (straight on), at the second roundabout take the first exit and at the third roundabout take the second exit (straight on). At the fourth roundabout take the second exit. This brings you almost immediately onto another roundabout. At this roundabout take the third exit. The Stadium entrance is then approx 250 yards on your right. (Beware 30 mph speed trap just before entrance!) After turning into the Stadium entrance proceed into the Car Park immediately on your left and you will see Celtic Park in front of you. Dinas Powys
Leave the M4 at Junction
33 (Cardiff West Services) and proceed onto the A4232 towards
Barry/Penarth/ Cardiff Airport. You will pass the turn off for the Museum
of the Welsh Life and the exit for Cardiff airport. You will also pass
the exit for Leckwith Industrial Estate. Leave the A4232 at the next
exit, signed for Barry/Penarth. This will drop down to a roundabout and
you will take the third exit, signed A4055 Barry/Penarth. You will come
to another round about, and you will go straight across following signs to
Barry/Dinas Powys. You will reach a set of traffic lights with the Merri
Harriers Pub on your right, follow the sweep in the road around to the
next set of lights (approx. 100m.). Follow straight through at these
lights following signs for the A4055 Barry/Dinas Powys. You will pass
Eastbrook Train station on your left. You will then come to a set of
lights at a cross roads (Dinas Powys Infants school on your left). Turn
left at these lights, and go over the bridge down the hill, take the
second right (chemist shop on corner). Follow the road for approx. ¼ mile
taking the second right (signed Murchfield Community Centre) the ground is
at the bottom of the road.
Ely RangersLeave the M4 at Junction 33, and take the A4232 (signposted for Cardiff West and the Airport). Follow this road for about two miles and leave at the Culverhouse Cross junction (again signposted for the Airport). At the roundabout, take the third exit onto the A4050. Go over three roundabouts, and turn left into Station Road just before you get to a grey footbridge over the road (the turning is marked for Wrinstone, and there’s a nice new brown roadsign saying “Ely Rangers” about 300 yards before the turning!). Follow the road, and the entrance to the ground is through the second gateway on the right.
Garden Village Leave the M4 at junction 47 and take the A483 towards Swansea. Drop down the hill to a roundabout and go right onto the A484 towards Gorseinon. At the next roundabout, take the exit marked for Llanelli and Gowerton (NOT the one marked for Garden Village, which is a 30mph speed hump road!). Follow this road to a roundabout and go right, passing Swansea Sound/The Wave radio station on your left. Turn right into the ground before you come to a mini-roundabout.
GarwLeave the M4 at Junction 36, and take the A4061 into Bryncethin. At the traffic lights go left onto the A4065 (signed for Pontycymmer). Go over the next roundabout, and after about a quarter of a mile turn right onto the A4064 (signed for Blaengarw and Pontycymmer). At the next junction, go right, where you re-join the A4065, and stay on this road for four miles, passing through the villages of Tylagwyn and Lluest. As you enter the village of Pant-y-gog and drop down the hill, you come to a bend to the left, with a phone box on the side of the road. Take the next left, and the lane takes you to the ground. There is on road parking on the main road, and a car park about 200 yards further down the road. And it’s free.
Goytre United Leave the M4 at junction 40, and take the 3rd exit off the mini roundabout (if coming from the west, first exit) signposted for Goytre. Go straight over the mini roundabout to a T-junction and go left. Follow this road right through Goytre village and just keep going. The road becomes a narrow country lane after you pass the cemetery, but just follow it as it dips down into the valley. The road bends left, and as you come off the bend, the ground is on your left. Turn in to the ground, and the car park is on your right.
Haverfordwest County FC On entering Haverfordwest from the A40 follow the signs for St.Davids. On the main roundabout (Greens garage on your right) take the fourth exit (St. Davids). On the next roundabout (Morrisons on your right) take the first exit. On the next roundabout (Fred Rees garage on your left, Blands garage on your right) go completely around to head back towards Morrisons. 50yds before Morrisons roundabout turn left into the Mart ground (club is signposted) follow the road to the end and enter the car park. Llangeinor Leave the M4 at Junction 36, and take the A4061 into Bryncethin. At the traffic lights go left onto the A4065 (signed for Pontycymmer). Go over the next roundabout, and after about a quarter of a mile turn right onto the A4064 (signed for Blaengarw and Pontycymmer). At the next junction, go right, where you re-join the A4065, and stay on this road for two miles, when you go through the village of Llangeinor take the first left and the ground is on your left. Llanwern From the West or from Risca: 1. Leave M4 at junction 28 (Tredegar Park) and take third exit on roundabout signposted A48 Newport. 2. At next roundabout (1/2 mile), take second exit, signed “A48 Docks" (dual carriageway) 3. At next roundabout (1/2 mile) on ("A48 Docks") go straight on. 4. At next roundabout (300 yards) take second exit (“A48 Docks") 5. Go through lights 1 mile on by Dock gates. Take second exit again at next roundabout ("A48/M4"), go through next traffic lights and over the river bridge. 6. Go straight on at lights at end of bridge and follow dual carriageway past "Carcraft" showrooms. The Stadium is next to these showrooms. 7. At roundabout a little further on, go round (4th exit) and come back up towards "Carcraft". 8. Turn left by "Carcraft". Turn left into car park 200 yds on to arrive at Stadium. Distance from M4 junction 28 to Stadium is approx. 6 miles. From East of Newport or from Monmouth, say: 1. Exit junction 24 of the M4 and take the exit on the roundabout signposted "Southern Distributor Road" 2. Go straight on at the first two roundabouts and take first exit at the third roundabout. 3. Go straight on at the next two roundabouts, pass the Velodrome (on the left) and then turn left between the two "Carcraft" buildings. Take the first turning on the left into the Stadium car park. Monmouth TownThe easiest way to get to the ground is to get off the A40 dual carriageway at the tunnels. Follow the B4293 to the town centre. Take a right over the new bridge over the river Monnow and you will see the ground on your right. There is parking for a small number of cars on the ground or there are three very close car parks around the Waitrose supermarket. Morriston TownLeave the M4 at Junction 45, and take the exit marked for Morriston Hospital. Almost immediately, turn left into Clydach Road (watch out for the recently installed speed cameras down this stretch!). Follow the road for about 500 yards, and the ground entrance is up a small lane between the houses on the right.
Newport Civil Service From M4 West or East Leave the M4 at Junction 26 and follow signs for the A4051 Malpas Road (signposted Cwmbran). When you join the dual carriageway keep to the left hand lane and at the first set of traffic lights turn left into Bettws Lane. Follow this road until you reach a mini roundabout then turn right into Monnow Way. Turn right into Shannon Close just after the petrol station on your right. Pontardawe Town Leave the M4 at junction 45, and take the A4067 road for Pontardawe. Follow this road for about two miles and go straight over the first roundabout (the Golf club on the side encompasses what was once Clydach United’s Welsh League ground!). Keep following the road to the next roundabout, and take the first exit towards Pontardawe. After about 300 yards you come to another roundabout. Go straight over and into the Alloy Industrial Estate. Follow the road to the top (it’s a dead end), and park on the side of the road. Walk through into the Recreation Grounds and the ground is on your left. PontyclunLeave the M4 at Junction 34, and take the A4119 towards Llantrisant. Go down the dual carriageway until you reach a roundabout. Take the first exit (signposted for Pontyclun and Cowbridge) onto the A473. Go past McDonalds, straight on at the roundabout, and follow the road until you reach a set of traffic lights, where you go left onto the A4222. Go past Leekes, through the village of Pontyclun and out the other side. On exiting Pontyclun the ground can be found approximately 400 metres on the left hand side just before the Ivor Arms public house.
Pontypridd From the M4. Join the A470 heading north leave the A470 at the Pontypridd/Ynysybwl turn off. Take the second exit off the roundabout and the ground can be seen from the slip road on your left. At the roundabout take the first exit and in 150 yards turn left into Ynysangharad Park. From the North: Leave the A470 at the Pontypridd/Ynysybwl turn off. Take the fourth exit off the roundabout and in approx 150 yards turn left into Ynysangharad Park. Troedyrhiw From the South (Cardiff area) - Take the A470 from Junction 32 of M4. On the second roundabout, go right and drop down to another roundabout. Take first left (signposted A4054 Troedyrhiw). After approximately one mile come into the Troedyrhiw (speed camera). On passing a pelican crossing, go right just after and then go under a railway bridge. After approximately 200 yards turn right into The Willows. From the North West (Neath/Swansea) - Heads of the Valley (A465), drop down hill after Care Home (formerly Bavistocks Hotel) to roundabout and take third exit. Straight on at two roundabouts and first left on third roundabout. Drop down to another roundabout and take first left (A4054) signposted Troedyrhiw. After approximately one mile enter Troedyrhiw (speed camera). On passing a pelican crossing go right. Go under railway bridge and after approximately 200 yards turn right into The Willows. From the North East (Abergavenny) - Heads of the Valley to top of Merthyr (Asda) take first left (Cardiff). On third roundabout take second exit(straight on) signposted A4054 Troedyrhiw. After approximately one mile enter Troedyrhiw (speed camera) and just after pelican crossing turn right. West End On leaving the M4 at junction 42 Leading onto A483 (Fabian way). Continue on this road until you see Cape Horner pub on right hand side reaching traffic lights you need the lane to turn right onto the Tawe bridge and heading for right hand lane and turning right onto New Cut Road carrying forward until traffic lights on top of the hill turning left onto Neath Road heading for right turning onto Carmarthen road A483, carry forward until traffic lights just before lights turn left onto Gors Avenue then take the first left heading for Townhill road carry on forward-taking the sixth turning left onto Eigen crescent then take first right onto Pry Deri Footpath, ground is straight ahead.
On leaving the M4 at junction 47 Turn left onto A483 (Swansea Road) signposted city centre. Carry on forward until first roundabout heading for city centre (A483 Carmarthen Road) past Tesco Extra on the right Carry on forward onto this road passing through lights in Fforestfach (Marquis Arms on the right) Carry forward to city centre A483 to roundabout at Cwmbrwla (Three Sisters on left), carry on forward to traffic lights right hand lane at traffic lights turn right onto Gors avenue take the first turning left onto Townhill Road, carry on this road until the sixth turning left onto Eigen crescent then take first right onto Pry Deri Footpath, ground is straight ahead. UWIC The East: Take Junction 29 off the M4 and travel westward on the A48(M) for approx. 3 miles. Turn off at the Llanederyn junction and take the 3rd exit off the roundabout. At the next roundabout take the first turning on your left up Llanederyn Road, follow this road to the traffic light junction where you join the right hand lane. Turn right onto Cyncoed Road; travel for approx. half a mile and UWIC will be on your right-hand side. The West: Take Junction 32 off the M4 and join the A470 towards the city centre. Continue along this road until you reach the Gabalfa roundabout. Stay in the left hand lane and take the first left onto the A48(M) eastward. Turn off at the Llanederyn junction and take the first left at the roundabout. Follow above directions ‘from the east’ from point 3. North Wales: Follow the A470 towards the city centre. Follow the above directions ‘from the west’ from point 2.
